Michael S. Sloan, DMD
I've been practicing dentistry in South Carolina since 1998. Originally from Kentucky, I attended the University of Kentucky for my undergraduate studies and graduated from the University of Louisville in 1998.  I have attended numerous hours of continuing education training sessions including implant placement and restoration, oral conscious sedation, veneers, endodontics, and Vizilite oral cancer screening.  I am an active member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, Tri County Dental Society and Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS).  My wife, Christi, and I reside in York, SC and are members of Lakewood Baptist Church.

James R. Finley, DDS
I was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio and attended The Ohio State University where I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During dental school, I participated in the Ohio Project where I volunteered at clinics in medically undeserved areas. I am a member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Tri-County Dental Society and Delta Sigma Delta International dental fraternity. My wife, Ashleigh, and I recently moved to the Fort Mill area and have enjoyed the friendly atmosphere the town has to offer. When not practicing dentistry, I enjoy outdoor activities, barbecuing, sports, and playing with my new puppies, Ty and Addie. Welcome to the Southlake Family, I look forward to meeting you.

Hello, my name is Stephanie.  I am a native of Fort Mill and a1989 graduate of Fort Mill High School.  I attended York Technical College 1989-1991.  My husband Jeff and I have two beautiful children, Alex 17 and Ashleigh 10.  I have worked in medical/dental administration for 17 years and chose the field of dentistry to apply my knowledge and management skills.  I am a member of the American Association of Dental Office Managers (AADOM).  Over the years I have attended numerous continuing education courses in management, insurance, billing, collections, etc.  I have worked with Southlake Family Dentistry for 11 years and truly love my employers and teammates.  It is a blessing to be part of a group so dedicated to top quality patient care.

Hi! My name is Shirley. I was born and raised in Rock Hill, SC. My husband Steve and I have two beautiful teenage girls, Chessye 16 and Montana 14. I had the pleasure of attending York Technical College, majoring in the Dental Assistant program and graduated in May 2001. I attend continuous education seminars to maintain my certifications in Infection Control, Radiology, CPR and chair side assisting. I spent 4 years working at the University of Mississippi's Dental school where I assisted the professors and later became the Scheduling Coordinator. Upon returning to South Carolina I worked part-time for a practice in Rock Hill where I performed assisting and front desk duties. I was offered a full time position with Southlake Family Dentistry in April 2007. Being a new team member, I look forward to getting to know you and your family and helping with all your scheduling needs!

Hello, my name is Martina, known by all as Marti. I am  a native of Detroit, Michigan. My husband, Morley, and I recently relocated to Charlotte.  Married for 25 years, we have four grown children, Faye, Alexa, Cole, and Scott. Faye is in Oakland, CA, and owns a Pilates studio.  Alexa, recently married, received her degree in Elementary Education. Scott attends Eastern Michigan University.  Cole is in the automobile industry.   I have been a dental hygienist for over 30 years, primarily in general practice.  Most recently, I was with the Graduate Prosthodontic Department Implant Clinic at The University of Michigan Dental School and a Periodontic and Dental Implant office in Ann Arbor.  While still in school, I had the privilege of working for the world renowned Oral Surgeon, Dr. Herbert Bloom.  Diversions include baking, crafts, reading, and walking.  Morley and I are members of St. Michael the Archangel Anglican Church in Matthews, NC.  I look forward to meeting you and assisting with your dental care and maintenance.

Julie, Registered Dental Hygienist
I am a native South Carolinian growing up and attending school in Rock Hill.  I attended BYU following high school pursuing a degree in math.  I realized that I wanted to work in dentistry and then returned to obtain my Dental Hygiene Degree from York Technical College where I was a President's Award recipient.  I have since obtained my SC license to practice dental hygiene and to administer infiltration anesthesia.  I am also certified to administer nitrous oxide and trained in Vizilite an advanced oral cancer screening.  I have also attended continuing education classes specializing in periodontal disease and implant care and maintenance. I have been married for 21 years and have three daughters.  We enjoy boating, snow skiing, the beach and all of our family gatherings.  We are very active in our church and youth programs. I have been working at Southlake Family Dentistry for 9 years where I have enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the emphasis of care for our patients.

Rita, Dental Assistant
My name is Rita and I am a native of Fort Mill and a 1978 graduate of Fort Mill High School. I have three beautiful children, Jessica, Alexandria, Daniel and three precious grandchildren, Nicholas, Macey and Madyson .  I attended York Technical College 1982-1983 and received my certification in Dental Assisting. I am certified in Digital Radiography, CPR, Nitrous Oxide Monitoring, and have been trained in Vizilite Oral Cancer Screening. In 2004 I received my Paralegal certificate from Winthrop University.  I further my dental education by taking continuing education courses yearly.   Southlake Family Dentistry has been my place of employment since 1983. Sherry, Certified Dental Assistant
I am a native of Rock Hill, and 1990 graduate Rock Hill High School. I attended York Technical College from 1994-1996, where I received my certificate for completing the Dental Assisting program. In 1996 I passed the National Boards to become a Certified Dental Assistant. I am certified in Infection Control, Digital Radiography, CPR, Nitrous Oxide Monitoring, and have been trained in Vizilite Oral Cancer Screening. To keep my certification up to date, I am required to have 12 hours each year, which I get by taking continuing educational courses. I have been employed with Southlake Family Dentistry since 1997 . I truly love my job and getting to know all of our wonderful patients, and the personal touch we have with each of them. I am also a  proud wife and mother of two wonderful boys . Our family enjoys fishing, 4- wheeling, mud slinging, being on the lake, or at the beach.
